New league to hold tryouts

Hillsborough County United Soccer Club will hold tryouts June 9-17 for competitive boys and girls teams from Under 9 to Under 19. Three tryouts for each classification will run at various dates and times. A schedule is available online at http://www.hcusoccer.com/2001tryouts.htm, or call (813) 908-5355 to leave a message asking for more information.

Tryouts are at the Ed Radice Sports Complex on South Mobley Road, about 1 1/2 miles west of Gunn Highway. The club will provide information about all of its programs and registration forms at a free open house at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the facility.

Registrants must attend with a parent or legal guardian and should bring a registration form, soccer shoes, water and shin guards. Attendance at all three tryouts is not mandatory, but the club recommends attending as many as possible.

Registration will begin in August for recreational play.
