ZEPHYRHILLS -- Locks on at least a dozen homes and sheds were forced open this past week at a mobile home park, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.
It is unclear whether anything was stolen from the mobile homes or the sheds, all of which were at Gem Estates. Many of the owners are up north, said deputies, and had not been contacted about the break-ins.
The locks and aluminum doors of the mobile homes were cut with metal-cutting scissors, the report said. One resident said he thought he heard noises outside of his mobile home at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday but didn't see anything suspicious.
The park manager said she would call the owners at their summer homes. A deputy referred the cases to the sheriff's property crimes unit.
