Holiday gatherings offer opportunities to eat, share

JAM (Jesus and Me Ministry), the Brooksville Parks and Recreation and the Jerome Brown Community Center will sponsor the 13th annual free Community Thanksgiving Dinner from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the community center, 99 Jerome Brown Place, Brooksville.

Donations needed include food and drinks, table cloths, paper products (cups, napkins, utensils), condiments, coffee, desserts, center pieces and decorations.

SNPJ Lodge 778 Thanksgiving Day Dinner/Dance, Thursday, 13383 County Line Road, Spring Hill. Dinner (turkey, ham and a number of side dishes) will be served from 1 to 3 p.m., and dancing will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Entertainment by Sheldon Brady. Tickets are $9 each. St. Andrew's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 8064 Weeping Willow St., Brooksville, will serve a family-style Thanksgiving dinner at noon Thursday.

Tickets are $10 and are available at the church from noon to 3 p.m. Wednesdays. Reservations are necessary. Dinner will be served from 1 to 2:30 p.m., which includes either turkey or lamb, with all the fixings including soup, salad, vegetables, dessert, coffee or tea. Dancing will follow with the Music Blenders from 3 to 6 p.m. Tickets are $10.
