The following businesses and government offices will be closed Thursday and Friday (unless otherwise noted), in recognition of Thanksgiving Day.

Supervisor of Elections office

U.S. Post Office

Local banks, all branches (Thursday only)

Hernando County Sheriff's Office

Hernando County public schools (closed Wednesday-Friday)

Hernando County Northwest Waste Management Facility, East Hernando Transfer Station and the West Hernando Transfer Station (Thursday only)

Pasco-Hernando Community College, all campuses

Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative offices

Brooksville Police Department offices

Florida Water Services office

Southwest Florida Water Management District's Office (Swiftmud)

Brooksville City Hall

Greater Hernando County Chambers of Commerce

Pasco Waste Management (Thursday only). The next garbage pickup will be Monday (Nov. 26) for both Pasco and Hernando County customers. Blue bags for recycling will be picked up on Saturday.

Department of Children and Families (formerly HRS)

City of Brooksville Sanitation Division: Thursday's pickups will be Friday and Friday's pickups will be Saturday. There will be no change in commercial pickups.

Hernando County Recreation Department

Jerome Brown Community Center (Thursday only)
